In times of need, animals may provide people a great deal of solace. It comes as no surprise that many individuals desire nothing more than the company of their cherished pets as they are nearing the end of their lives.
And lately, the pet animal of a dying woman paid her a very special visit.
The ailing mother of Lisa McDonald and her sister has been receiving palliative care. They were considering methods to make her last days memorable and were motivated by their mother’s lifetime adoration of the Disney movie Bambi.
In a Facebook post to the group The Kindness Pandemic, Lisa stated, “She has Bambi sculptures everywhere, and she is wearing a Bambi T-shirt in her bed.” We refer to our Bambi T-shirts, which we are wearing together with the rest of the family members who are standing by us, as our nursing uniforms.
The family decided to surprise the mother with a real-life Bambi — a genuine deer — visit as her health began to decline.
The old woman is thrilled and startled as the deer walks into the room.
The deer, which just so happened to be named “Bambi,” came from a petting farm run by Chris and Simone. The couple nurtured the deer by hand after it was abandoned.
According to Lisa, they made a special trip from Melbourne, traveling two hours, “out of pure love and generosity,” to see the elderly widow who loved deer.
Lisa commented, “I cannot express my gratitude for all that they have done for my mother and my family.
The mother tenderly petted the actual Bambi from her bed, making the deer’s visit an unforgettable and endearing experience.
It is obvious how much Bambi and deer have meant to this woman throughout her life, and the visit was undoubtedly a high point of her last few weeks.
Lisa adds that her mother will be cremated in one of her Bambi shirts, expressing how she will have her passion near to her heart until the very end.
